I-V characteristics and adsorption properties of ZnO/rGO/ZnO for gas sensing detection

Abstract The heterostructure consisting of zinc oxide and reduced graphene (ZnO/rGO/ZnO) is prepared on cotton fabric by repeated immersion magnetron sputtering. In addition, the gas selectivity sample analyzed based I-V characteristics under different atmospheres (air, methanal, ethanol, acetone toluene). Compare with that in air atmosphere, characteristic curve toluene atmosphere changes significantly, current decreased significantly. experimental results show samples exhibit high selectivity. order to study intrinsic physical after adsorption, band structures, density states (DOS), adsorption energy (E ad ) charge difference (CDD) are calculated function theory (DFT). existence rGO a electrical conductivity, which consistent results. Meanwhile, has highest E (-0.85 eV) transfer (0.67 e). prove large number electrons transferred from surface vicinity molecules, leads change conductivity heterostructure. Based excellent selectivity, application cotton-based ZnO/rGO/ZnO structure sensing field promoted.
